very nice; Superior room large; bathroom small; very quiet; perfect location in the heart of Gamla Stan
Wifi connection poor in the upper floors
Erica was the manager on duty (it would appear that only one person is on duty at the hotel as only she was present for our stay). She was very attentive and performed her duties well. The room on level 3 (no 6) was clean and well appointed.
1. The hotel is difficult to find in the old city(Gamla Stan) The taxi driver could not find even with gps. 2 The WIFi did not work work on the third level with a very weak signal. It was also weak at the breakfast room area.3 Our room on the 3rd level room no 6 had a slanted floor (building is very old) and my bedding would slip off during the night. I nearly fell off the bed during the night. The steps up to the room are very steep. Not suitable for the young and old.
Location, quirkiness of sloping floor and stairs, good size of our room, heated floor in wet room, comfortable beds.
No blackout blinds, kept waking every two or three hours thinking it was time to have breakfast. No change of towels over four days. If you can't climb steep narrow stairs don't stay here
The staff is perfect. I made a mistake with my reservation date and they fixed it without charging. Bed is very confortable. Location is just spetacular. THe owner is a former opera singer and a very nice person. The historical building is in good shape and is very interesting. Very nice breakfast. Very favourable cost benefit. Quiet neighborhood with lots of pubs and restaurants around. Bathroom with heated fllor, very spacious. Really a perfect hotel! Perfect!
No elevator. It is not a problem if you do not have mobility issues. I stayed in the top floor and it did not bother me at all. Perfect hotel.
Great location, friendly staff. very personal only a small number of guests
A bit hard to find the place and you need a pass code to get in after hours
The location and the "cosy" room.
No lift and narrow stairs if you have much luggage.
it was the most different place we've ever stayed, built in 1607 but now with marble bathrooms, it was right in the middle of the old town & you felt like you were stepping back in history, there were even ghost tours beign given under our window on weekends, staff was very quick to accomodate requests (for a replacement lamp & larger cups) and helpful with directions.
the lighting was much to dim, you could only read by one of the lamps
central location, charming decor, fantastic comfortable beds, friendly staff
The atmosphere was perfect: ancient building in the heart of a fascinating old city; and yet spotlessly clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The breakfast was extensive and extremely good. The welcome we received was very friendly and staff were always most helpful. The hotel's flexibility with accommodating a guest arriving early from usa was very much appreciated indeed.
I loved the hotel, but I notice that whilst the website does say that "there is no elevator", it does not explain that there is a steep spiral staircase. Beautiful as it is, this would be an impossible hotel for the elderly or even slightly disabled.
The decor was classically stylish and interesting The service was very friendly Breakfast was lovely
The building and the rooms were beautiful. The location inpeccable an the service stunningly helpful and friendly.
That I could not stay longer.
It was amazingly atmospheric. Like stepping back into time and yet amazingly modern and comfortable.
Charming old building in a cute little lane right in the middle of the Old Town.
Steep staircase, low doors. This isn't a complaint - that's the way they built them 400 years ago! Just caveat emptor! If you arrive after 6pm you have to call them to get in - they're not on site.
Built in 1607, very special. A bit unusual for business, but the bigger hotels were all full due to tennis event. But I'd be likely to favour Sven Vintappare again.
Difficult to find, as it is a small side street and even locals don't know, but with a map one should be ok. Phoning the hotel also helped.
Charme des Hotels und dessen Angestellten!
